What we do
Field Activities and Support — Jelita Foundation
Jelita Foundation exists to support nature conservation efforts carried out in partnership with relevant authorities and institutions. We work alongside our partners in the field, assisting in the implementation of conservation activities and contributing to the protection of forests and wildlife throughout Riau Province.
GPS Collar Installation on Sumatran Elephants
Location: Duri, Bengkalis Regency, Riau
We supported the installation of satellite tracking collars on wild elephants, carried out in collaboration with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA) Riau and Rimba Satwa Foundation. The objective is to monitor elephant movements, identify migration corridors, and enable early warning to prevent human-wildlife conflict.
Two elephants fitted with tracking devices:
- Codeit — Male Elephant
- Seruni — Female Elephant
Implemented in collaboration with: Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA) Riau and Rimba Satwa Foundation
Wildlife Monitoring Using Camera Traps
Location: Lubuk Bigau Village, Kampar Kiri Hilir District, Kampar Regency, Riau
We supported wildlife monitoring activities through the deployment of camera traps in the forest area of Lubuk Bigau Village. Data collected is used to identify wildlife species inhabiting the area and to support the sustainable development of the Waterfall Ecotourism site in the village, ensuring that tourism proceeds in harmony with nature.
Implemented in collaboration with: Yayasan Hutan Riau
Together We Protect Nature
All our activities are carried out as supportive field initiatives in partnership with authorized institutions. Nature conservation cannot be accomplished alone — it requires cooperation, collective effort, and shared commitment from all sectors to ensure that Sumatra’s forests and wildlife remain protected.
